EJ Rivers

I am the voice you hear from 5:30 am to 10 am every Monday through Friday, Saturdays 6 am to 10 am, and the occasional Sunday as well.

Here are the answers to some of the most frequently asked questions I receive:

Yes, going to bed at 8 pm and getting up at 4 am is still kinda hard, even after 12 years. But it's totally worth it. And honestly, if went to a regular schedule NOW, I might go into shock.

Yes, I really do have 2 dogs, 4 indoor cats and half a dozen ferals out back, 2 of which have been caught and spay-tered. Monkey the Elder Cat is almost 14, Henry the Shi-Tzu is 12, Tessa the German Shepherd/Irish Setter/Border Collie from CARA is 11, the feral born cattensTang Man, Mouse and Princess Tavi are almost 2, and the feral cats Yin and Yang are almost 1. By the way, I didn't MEAN to keep them all, it's just the way it all worked out. I'm not so much Mom as I am Furless Leader.

Yes, I really do all the projects I talk about. Yardwork, flooring, sanding, priming, patching, painting, planing... over many gifty holidays, I have amassed an impressive array of power tools. I even have my own miter saw. One day I plan to meet my Bruce Wayne and HE can worry about all that stuff. But until then, there is ALWAYS a To Do List.

And yes, I really do run 4 to 5 times a week out on the Trace. It took me over a year to get up to it, and I am actually very proud of myself. Don't mistake me, I'm not very good at it (I'm slow, I have bad form, and I tend to breathe loudly), but I do enjoy it. And I don't do it for fitness... I'm not really into marathons, 10K's or even 5K's, per se... my true goal, eventually, is to simply run 3 miles a day so that I can whatever the heck I want. That's it.

Feel free to keep up on Twitter (@eejer) or on Facebook (EjLysaRivers). And see you in the morning!
