#GoodFolks Karina at Chick-Fil-A Jackson

Every morning on The Morning Mix, I share a story about Good Folks who are spreading kindness and making their community a better place. Have a story to share? Email me – Shannon

The next time you’re at Chick-fil-A Jackson, ask if Karina’s at work and tell her thank you for reminding us what humility and kindness looks like. A local man, Robert Gooch, was at her store on Monday. As he was waiting for his order he noticed she was talking to a man who looked as though he may have fallen on hard times. He only had a $5 bill and Karina was helping him work out what he could buy with his money. He tried to give her the money but she told him that his meal was on her.

As Mr. Gooch noted in his Facebook post, “It would have been so easy to turn around and ask the manager to step in or for help but she didn’t she just said hey it’s on me. She could have just gave him water and took his money and went on to the next customer and again she didn’t she just did it. I’ve been in customer service for a long time. I’ve been through some of the best trainings such as Dale Carnegie and yet a girl name Karina in a Chick-fil-A in Jackson, MS in a 3 minute conversation with a customer has managed to teach me the value of humility and taking care of your customers. It’s not just the nuggets that make this place successful. It’s people like Karina.”
