#GoodFolks Clinton Cares

Every morning on The Morning Mix, I share a story about Good Folks who are spreading kindness and making their community a better place. Have a story to share? Email me – Shannon

Eastside Elementary students, Zoey Washington and Mary Virginia Stone, heard their teacher, Misty Rogers, share about a homeless person she encountered over the holidays. They were inspired to launch a campaign called “Clinton Cares: *Love * Live * Donate * Give*”. The students are collecting toiletries, snacks and necessities now through April 30th.

Through the drive, reusable shopping bags will be filled with the items collected for foster children and homeless shelters throughout the Hinds County area. The girls have 250 bags they’d like to fill.

Here are the items they hope you’ll donate:
Fleece blankets (new)
Stuffed animals (new)
3-in-1 shampoo/conditioner/body wash (travel size)
Unused bars of soap
Activity/coloring books
Toothbrushes (new)
Toothpaste (new)
Mouthwash (travel size)
Floss kit
Snack bars (granola, etc.) or other non-perishable food items

For more information or to donate, contact .

The girls are also hoping to partner with a business to have a drop-off location outside the school and continue the project every year. If you’d like more info about Clinton Cares please email Misty Rogers
